The Parr cars lead the pack on the Media DayThe team were present at the Northamptonshire-based circuit for the annual Carrera Cup media day, organised by the championship, to launch the brand new season.

Parr drivers, Dino Zamparelli, Paul Rees and Mark Cole were at the track for media duties and testing throughout the day. Unfortunately, Parr’s other driver, Peter Kyle-Henney could not be at the season launch, although his car was on display in the team’s garage.

The team are a regular fixture in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB paddock, having entered the championship from the very beginning in 2003. They are focussing on winning races, and hopefully the championship, with their line up of talented drivers.

They will be at Brands Hatch for the first round of the championship on 4-5 April.

Dino Zamparelli, driver, Parr Motorsport:
“Today was a mixed day. We are struggling a bit with our balance but we can keep progressing and learn more about the car as we go on. It’s all new to me and we are still in the learning phase but we have got a few days to focus and get ready for round one and I think we will be ok by then.”

Paul Rees, driver, Parr Motorsport:
“It’s been a good day and it’s great to be with Parr, my new team. They are so professional, it’s fantastic. We’ve been reasonably quick today but we are still waiting for the upgrades so once they are applied, we will have a more accurate idea of where we are and we can really start pushing. Today was important to just get some running in before the start of the season.”

Mark Cole, driver, Parr Motorsport:
"It was a good start to my time with Parr. I would have liked to have been a little quicker but Rome wasn’t built in a day and we made good progress. I made a mistake on my tyre run which cost me about half a second. I’m very happy with the way the team operates and the car, the time is in me so I need to look but we’ll find it. I’m very happy indeed. Nicholls & Clarke and Driver Intelligence have come along today with guests and I don’t think I’ve ever had to work so hard out of the car but it has been a very good day for them and they have gone away very pleased. It’s a positive start."

Paul Robe, Team Owner, Parr Motorsport:
“It was a new day for the team with our drivers and I have to say I was very happy with the day. We would have liked to have been a little quicker but the drivers are learning about us and we’re learning about them, so we can only go forward from here. Dino is new to these cars and therefore it is still early days. This is the grippiest day we’ve had really, so the level that we have got to now means he is understanding the car and the setup. For Paul, it was his first day back in the car. We’ve never worked with him before but he has definitely got pace and I was very pleased. Mark did really well, I was pleased but I know he was a bit disappointed and wanted to go faster. We are understanding his needs and that was what today was all about and that goes across the whole team. It was very positive and I’m very pleased, the dynamic in the team is excellent.”
