Ben Barker will join Parr's Le Mans driver line upBRDC Superstar Ben Barker will return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Parr Motorsport for round seven to be held on the hallowed tarmac of Le Mans. The race will be a major support event to the French classic and will be held just hours before 24-hour race begins on Saturday morning.

The Briton has had a successful year so far, winning his group at Bathurst and taking his maiden podium finish in the opening round of the Porsche Supercup. Ben is also competing in a Porsche RSR in the five race ELMS series, which has already run at Silverstone and Imola in Italy. In March he made an appearance in the Parr run guest car at the opening rounds of the Carrera Cup GB taking a brace of wins in the process.

Ben will be flying back form Detroit where he will be making his debut in the United Sportscar Championship before heading to France to prepare for his first experience of the 13.629 circuit.

“The last two months have been crazy,” said Ben. “With Barcelona Supercup, Imola ELMS, Monaco Supercup, now Detroit and then Le Mans!! I’m really looking forward to the track and to witnessing the 24-hour live. It’s great to be back with Parr Motorsport for my second event this year. We will be looking for the win for sure!

“It’s great news, I’m really excited.” Added Paul Robe. “ We wanted a very good driver for Le Mans and to have Ben in the car it couldn’t be better. He’s a proven winner and knows the car well. It’s a great line up, great for everyone and great for the team.”

The race will also be a significant event in the storied history of Parr as they celebrate thirty years in 2014. The circuit is a special place for the team after achieving a GT2 podium in the 1996 24-hour race. To commemorate the anniversary a special thirty-year livery has been designed and will be unveiled at the circuit.
