Peter Kyle-Henney at Brands Hatch season openerParr Motorsport’s woes continued after a disappointing performance in race one of the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB championship. All four entries got off the line and either held or improved their positions. Dino, Paul and Mark ran most of the race in close company making progress through the field. Peter was a pace setter in the ProAm2 class early on before being the victim of someone else’s accident which unfortunately resulted in the shell of his chrome and black 991 being heavily damaged. Paul Rees did very well to bring his battle scarred car home for meaningful championship points with Dino and Mark also opening their accounts.

Peter Kyle-Henney – Did not finish

“He came down the grass on his own and took two cars out. Unfortunately it’s two rounds down now in the championship and I’m in it win it. We did well though and got fastest lap. We were looking good, the car was feeling good and we made good progress.”

Dino Zamparelli – Finished 11th

It wasn’t the start we wanted. The car was good in the race but today hasn’t gone our way and we’ve been a bit unlucky. We’ll write this one off and start again tomorrow. It’s a character-building weekend and we showed we had pace in free practice and we were just unlucky. I’ve been racing a long time and sometimes things go your way and sometimes they don’t.”

Mark Cole – Finished 12th

I had an average start because I was starting on the hill so I had to hold the car on the brake. The car came to me well in the middle of the race but it was a bit messy out there with a lot of cars going off so it was the best of a bad job.”

Paul Rees – Finished 13th

“It was a bit of a 2015 baptism of fire. You don’t want to be starting mid-pack when there is nigh on 30 cars starting but I actually got a good start. Falla stalled in front of me off the line so I had to back out, I then started working my way though and had the fastest lap at one point. It’s very hard to overtake here and someone went off in front of me and sprayed the car with gravel. It punctured my radiators, which leaked coolant onto my front tyres so I had no front-end grip. I had temperature alarms going off and the windscreen was peppered so I couldn’t see so I had a lot to think about. We got a couple of points and it was damage limitation but onwards and upwards.”

Paul Robe – Team Principal

“I’m sort of lost for words really. Peter was doing really well to start with and had the fastest lap of the race and was in a good position. Then he got collected and it wasn’t even his fault so it was a real shame. The other guys had an eventful race and we did as well as we possibly could but the cars are fine and we’ve only got a little bit of damage. We’ll be here ready to work again tomorrow to have a good race and get some more points because we’re working on a championship.”
