Baker takes podium on Parr's GT Cup return

Parr Motorsport completed their return to the GT Cup Championship at Donington Park this weekend with a group podium for Andrew Baker in the Porsche 997 GT3. After qualifying in 17th on the grid in the morning, Baker crossed the line of the longer pitstop race in 14th overall and third in the GTB group.

Sean Hudspeth put in the drive of his life to come back from last place to finish in second place in the ProAm2 group after being tapped into a spin on the first lap of the race.

After that, it was maximum attack as he scythed his way through the field, overcoming the deficit during the 30-minute race. The tension really started to ramp up as Sean moved into third place in ProAm1 and set about catching the second placed car.

The weather proved to be the biggest challenge to the Parr Motorsport team today as rain and cold conditions first thing gave way to snow at 9am. This led to qualifying being cancelled and the grid for race one being decided by championship order.

Parr Motorsport make full time return to GT Cup

Porsche specialists Parr Motorsport will return full time to the GT Cup with new driver Andrew Baker.

Parr have been long time supporters of the successful GT Cup and have brought a number of drivers to the championship through the years. Andrew will be racing in a 997 GT3 Cup car, which was previously raced by former GT Cup winner Peter Smallwood in 2014.
