Dino Zamparelli flies solo at SnettertonParr Motorsport will be fielding a single entry in this weekend’s Porsche Carrera Cup GB races at Snetterton.

The Norfolk-based circuit plays host to rounds nine and ten as the championship kicks back into life after a mid-season summer break. After a solid first half to the year, the team will be looking to move things up a gear and realise the potential everyone knows it has.

Paul Rees will not be racing under medical advice following an accident whilst tutoring a driver at Croft three weeks ago. However, Paul will be back in his Sopra Steria sponsored car for rounds 11 and 12 at Knockhill.

Mark Cole will also not be participating due to budgetary constraints. “It was always going to be a possibility that I would not be able to make one of the races this year. We’ve sustained a bit of damage this year, which has eaten into the budget. Having discussed the matter with my primary sponsor N&C, we decided to miss Snetterton as the race is of little benefit to them as they have very few clients in the area. We are set to return for Knockhill and the rest of the season.”

This will leave Dino Zamparelli as the sole focus of the Parr Motorsport team’s efforts for the weekend. “I’m looking forward to it,” said Dino. “We had a good test here the other week. The long term forecast is looking quite good, so at the moment it looks like we will have a warm and sunny weekend. Those will be similar conditions to when we tested, so that bodes well. I’m looking for a strong second half of the season.”

“It’s a shame that Mark cannot be racing with us this weekend,” said team principal Paul Robe. “Unfortunately, budgets are a constant battle in motorsport, so it is a fact of life, but we look forward to having him back for Knockhill. Similarly with Paul, he is absolutely doing the right thing and resting, but we know he’ll come back strong for the next races. This leaves Dino and we will be putting everything behind him this weekend. We will really be challenging for a good result at Snetterton.”

Track action will begin on Friday 7th August for two forty-five minute practice sessions at 9:00 and 12:05. Qualifying will be on Saturday 8th August at 14:20 with both races on Sunday 9th August - race one starting at 10:45 and race two at 17:40.
