Pepe at KnockhillPepe Massot took his second overall podium of his short Porsche Carrera Cup GB career at Knockhill when he crossed the line to take third place in round thirteen of the championship. The Spaniard benefited from countryman Victor Jimenez’s misfortune when he was not able to make it to the grid. Pepe made the most of the opportunity though to take a well deserved trophy.

“It was a good race,” said Pepe. “I got a really, really good start and nearly got ahead of Josh into the first corner but he braked too late so I had to back off. Third was okay, the track was dirty so it was difficult to push the car but I was on the pace of Michael and Josh so it was a shame not being able to push more. I’m still getting to know the car though and I’m learning every time.”

Peter Kyle-Henney made it a brace of podiums for Parr Motorsport when he took second place in the ProAm2 category. “It was brilliant,” said Peter. “The key objective was to get in front of Steve which I did nice and early this time around and then I could get my head down and concentrate. Carol was quick through the chicane and I tried very hard to follow her through there but couldn’t quite catch her.”

Paul Robe was as satisfied with the team’s weekend work as the drivers. “It was a great race,” said the team boss. “It was disappointing to see Victor have a problem and not get off the line but Pepe still did a great job and he was there. He’s still new to the car it’s only his third weekend and this is a very tough place. We’re right up there, we need a little more to put him on the pace of the top two but we’re certainly not far away. I’m pleased we got on the podium and it’s a good result for the team. Equally, Peter drove brilliantly and he’s found the pace and done a great job. Very happy.”
