Parr Motorsport drivers Sean Hudspeth and Peter Kyle-Henney got off to good starts today, after practice ahead of Round 11 and 12 of the championship.

The morning session got underway in tricky conditions as the drivers had to negotiate a slippery, drying track on slick tyres. Although the mix of conditions induced two red flags, both Sean and Peter were able to extract good enough lap times to put them at the top end of their classes.

Sean impressed on what was his first time around Knockhill, going third quickest in Pro Am1 which put him within the top ten in the morning session. He repeated this pace in the afternoon, as the track dried out throughout the day. Peter meanwhile was quickest in Pro Am2 in the morning, improving on his lap time in the afternoon by two tenths of a second.

Sean Hudspeth – Pro Am1 driver

“The track grip levels was changing all the time, which meant it depended on when you put your best lap in. But overall quite a good day considering that it is my first time at the circuit, I still have some time to find but we’re not really looking at lap times or positions at the moment because we’re not sure what tyres people used. It’s testing so we’ll see in qualifying when everyone is on the same tyres. We have a little bit more left in the car, I have a bit more to come out of myself, it’s just about confidence moving forward.”

Peter Kyle-Henney – Pro Am2 driver

“The track was pretty slippery in the morning, particularly through the esses in the first part of the lap. We improved on our time towards the end of the session by two tenths after finding some time at the start of the lap. We will have a look over the data and see where we can improve for qualifying tomorrow.”

Ben Barker – Driver Coach

“Today went well. Although Sean had a bit of an off he was able to put it behind him and comeback with some good pace in the car. Pete is also finding confidence in the car after going quicker on his last run by two tenths. Hopefully he can carry that momentum into tomorrow.

Paul Robe – Team Manager

“I’m pleased with the results today. Sean is showing some real progress after his off this morning, luckily it didn’t damage the car too much. But he was able to get back out and set another quick lap. Peter also put in a good lap, particularly towards the end as he found more pace from the car. I think for him it’s just about building up confidence throughout the weekend.”
