2007 British porsche carrera cup round 10
October 13th - 14th
For the second race weekend running, Sam Hancock took pole position for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB ahead of round 19 at Thruxton today (Saturday 13 October). In a qualifying session affected by spilt coolant, Hancock grabbed pole position very early on and stayed ahead as title contenders James Sutton, Tim Harvey and Steven Kane qualified second, third and fourth.
Hancock (Motorbase Performance) pushed from the very start of the session and set the pole time on his second flying lap. Shortly afterwards, coolant dropped by the car of Peter Bamford (Team RPM) left the track very slippery and meant that competitive times were impossible for much of the rest of the session. Only on the very last lap did lap times approach the mark set by Hancock.
