The Parr Motorsport drivers Paul Rees and Mark Cole put in a solid effort to be comfortably in the right territory as the Porsche Carrera Cup GB moved to Silverstone for this weekend’s races.

The famous Northamptonshire circuit plays host to rounds thirteen and fourteen of the championship and the team are optimistic of a strong performance around the six turn, 1.6 mile circuit. Paul Rees put his Sopra Steria-branded car in the top four in Free Practice One, less than three tenths of a second off the fastest time. Mark Cole put in an equally impressive showing to net thirteenth overall and third in the Pro Am1 class.

Free Practice Two took place in sunny conditions but with both cars venturing out on very used rubber fast times were never the objective of the session. Both drivers were happy with their cars although there is more time to find in the cars and drivers. All attention will be on maximising the package for Paul and Mark for qualifying at 2:30 on Saturday.

“Free practice one went very well and I was happy with the times,” said team boss Paul Robe. “Mark actually drove well to get the time out of the car but we worked a bit on driving technique this afternoon. The circuit changed this afternoon and was slower and not many went faster. We’re happy with where we are and I’m comfortable with where we are. We will work on the lines a bit with the drivers but we’re happy that they will do a good job.”
