Dino takes sixth at SnettertonDino Zamparelli scored solid points in race one of the Carrera Cup GB double-header at Snetterton.

Starting in seventh, Dino capitalised on a coming together into turn two on the opening lap when James Sutton was hit from behind by Ryan Cullen, catapulting him into Stephen Jelley. Dino was able to pick his way through the middle of the melee to claim fifth place on the opening lap.

He was able to hold the place until lap five when Jelley was able to sneak by. This left Dino to fight with Jayde Kruger in what would turn out to be one of the battles of the race. It was however cut short when Kruger spun out of the race at Williams.

Dino crossed the line the line in sixth place and disappointed with the result but taking welcome points for his Rookie Cup campaign.

“We finished P6 from P7,” said Dino. “We were up to fifth but lost a place and then we lost the gap to the lead group. We were struggling. The car didn’t feel very good. I was driving my heart out but there was nothing I could do, I was pretty defenceless in that race. Unfortunately, I had some issues with the braking but we’ll get to the bottom of it before race two.”

“It was a good race,” added team boss Paul Robe. “At the beginning we got a little bit fortunate to gain places with the accident that happened in front of us but we were happy with the result at the end. We were hoping for a little bit better but it is difficult out there but we managed to keep in contention to take a place if there was a mistake. We’ll look forward to the next race.”
