Sean Hudspeth put in the drive of his life to come back from last place to finish in second place in the ProAm2 group after being tapped into a spin on the first lap of the race.

After that, it was maximum attack as he scythed his way through the field, overcoming the deficit during the 30-minute race. The tension really started to ramp up as Sean moved into third place in ProAm1 and set about catching the second placed car.

The weather proved to be the biggest challenge to the Parr Motorsport team today as rain and cold conditions first thing gave way to snow at 9am. This led to qualifying being cancelled and the grid for race one being decided by championship order.

Paul Rees made a superb start to round fifteen from Brands Hatch in Ken to claim a top ten finish. The oxford-based driver started tenth on the grid for the penultimate race of the year but was able to drive between to cars on the row in front to claim two places off the line. He would concede one place in a battle with Stephen Jelley that ultimately affected the handling of his Porsche 991 Cup car.

Barker takes sixth in race one

Parr Motorsport’s Ben Barker suffered a frustrating race one at a damp Brands Hatch this morning. A poor getaway off the line meant he dropped to sixth from his fourth place starting position. Despite having a mid race scrap with Porsche Scholarship driver Dan Lloyd and taking holding fifth for some time, he eventually dropped back to finish in sixth.

Barker qualifies on second row at Brands Hatch

Ben Barker put his Parr Motorsport Porsche on the second row of the grid for both of tomorrow’s races at Brands Hatch. The youngster was initially leading the way during the first half of the session and had pitted before a red flag came out after team-mate Richard Denny spun into the gravel at Westfield with a mechanical fault. Richard’s car as recovered to the pits but was no longer in fit condition to continue.

Barker quickest in Friday testing

The second free practice session of the day was literally a wash out. With rain coming down over the lunch break rivers were running down the track at one point and so it was going to be very limited running for the session. Some of the other drivers did up to seventeen laps in the wet but the Parr Motorsport team decided there was little to learn from the track and with Ben having already set the fastest time of the day during the dryer first session, everything to lose.
