As the team’s readied the tyres in the pit lane for qualifying spots of rain began to fall and all of a sudden we were wondering what might be about to happen. As it happened the spots stopped and we had a dry qualifying but with a damp track the times were drastically different by the end of the half hour session.

Pepe Massot’s race was over before it even began as his car was unable to leave the grid for the warm up lap of round sixteen of the Porsche Carrera Cup. The car was unceremoniously pushed off the grid as the rest of the field circled the 1.6 mile track. The team tried to get the car going in the pit lane but, despite best efforts, the number fourteen car was left stranded in the pits and out of the race.

Double podium for Parr at Knockhill

Pepe Massot took his second overall podium of his short Porsche Carrera Cup GB career at Knockhill when he crossed the line to take third place in round thirteen of the championship. The Spaniard benefited from countryman Victor Jimenez’s misfortune when he was not able to make it to the grid. Pepe made the most of the opportunity though to take a well deserved trophy.

Competitive outing at Knockhill in changeable conditions

The rain came down an hour before the qualifying session began, soaking the tracks and pretty much everything else. It eased up by the start of the session but the track was still sodden and it was definitely going to be a wet tyre affair. By mid-session the sun was shining and warming up the assembled masses of mechanics and other championship personnel.

Productive and fast day at Knockhill

Parr Motorsport enjoyed a very positive day at Knockhill in preparation for rounds twelve and thirteen of the Porsche Carrera Cup this weekend. The unpredictability of the weather threw a curve ball at proceedings with session one being dry and session two being wet. Session two dried towards the end however meaning all the runners could bolt in slick tyres.

Porsche Promote Massot to Pro category

Based on Pepe Massot’s impressive pace in his opening weekend in the championship at Croft, and his qualifying performance at Snetterton today, championship organisers Porsche have promoted him into the Pro category. The decision was reached after a Driver’s Panel meeting was held with three randomly chosen drivers to decide if he should be promoted.

Parr's pace impresses in qualifying

Pepe Massot set an impressive pace in today’s qualifying session to net third fastest time for the second race and a fourth place in race one. “I’m really happy with the team and with myself in this qualifying session.” said a happy Pepe. The track was quicker in the second half of the thirty-minute session as it rubbered in becoming grippier for th Michelin tyres.

Parr drivers in championship hunt at Croft
