Perfect Peter secures double ProAm2 pole position

Peter Kyle-Henney set a very impressive pace to dominate qualifying for rounds 13 & 14 of the Porsche Carrera Cup at Silverstone. The Hampshire-based driver drove flat out to set a time seven tenths of a second faster than his nearest rival. An incredible feat when you consider that the gap from first to 14th place on the grid was under a second.

Rain doesn’t dampen Parr confidence in testing

Parr Motorsport had a productive day at Silverstone in free practice for rounds 13 & 14 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. The day started with rain, which meant the first session was a totally wet affair. Sean clocked up a dozen laps with Peter completing 19 laps in his Sesanti-backed car. Both drivers finished the session in fourth place in class having got some wet running in.

Sean Hudspeth put in the drive of his life to come back from last place to finish in second place in the ProAm2 group after being tapped into a spin on the first lap of the race.

After that, it was maximum attack as he scythed his way through the field, overcoming the deficit during the 30-minute race. The tension really started to ramp up as Sean moved into third place in ProAm1 and set about catching the second placed car.

The weather proved to be the biggest challenge to the Parr Motorsport team today as rain and cold conditions first thing gave way to snow at 9am. This led to qualifying being cancelled and the grid for race one being decided by championship order.

Pepe Massot’s race was over before it even began as his car was unable to leave the grid for the warm up lap of round sixteen of the Porsche Carrera Cup. The car was unceremoniously pushed off the grid as the rest of the field circled the 1.6 mile track. The team tried to get the car going in the pit lane but, despite best efforts, the number fourteen car was left stranded in the pits and out of the race.

Tordoff finishes top British racer in Porsche Supercup

Sam Tordoff finished highest of the eight drivers from the Porsche Carrera Cup GB who stepped up to the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup race at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend (7/8 July). Tordoff finished a strong 12th from a 25-car field, but it was a bitter sweet weekend for 2012 Carrera Cup Scholarship driver Daniel Lloyd who qualified a hugely impressive tenth overall only to be eliminated on the opening lap of the race.
