The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge GB has received a massive boost with confirmation that coverage of the final race of the season will be broadcast on ITV4 during the live BTCC programme on Sunday 7 October.
The final two rounds of the GT3 Cup Challenge will run alongside the Porsche Carrera Cup GB as support races to the MSA British Touring Car Championship, with the concluding GT3 Cup Challenge race scheduled to start at 10.25 on Sunday morning. The race will be filmed by ITV and screened during the lunch break, planned to run from 13.00 to 13.45. Commentary will be from BTCC duo Toby Moody and former Carrera Cup champion Tim Harvey.
“This is fabulous news for everyone involved in the GT3 Cup Challenge GB,” said Marion Barnaby, Motorsport Manager at Porsche Cars GB. “Not only will the drivers get to race in front of a massive BTCC crowd, but they will also get prime TV exposure to as many as a million TV viewers.”
The final weekend of the 2012 GT3 Cup Challenge GB is attracting unprecedented interest from potential competitors and the Silverstone weekend is set to deliver the championship’s biggest grid to date.
