About the Championship

In 2012, an estimated 366,000 fans watched the Carrera Cup GB races live at the circuits during the 10-weekend schedule, while over 5 million people saw television coverage of the championship, live on race day via ITV4.

The Porsche Carrera Cup GB is at the very pinnacle of British motor racing. Stunning cars, top teams and drivers and unrivalled back up from Porsche Cars GB makes the Carrera Cup the obvious choice for teams and drivers seeking a superb racing platform.

The successful Professional-Amateur 1 and the Professional-Amateur 2 categories ensure that the less-experienced and non-professional racers can compete for their own points, prize money and podiums within the overall championship.

The Professional-Amateur 2 category offers new drivers the chance to join the Carrera Cup GB for selected events and compete for separate points and awards.

Professional and Professional Amateur 1 (Pro and Pro-Am1)

For individual rounds, points will be awarded as 20-18-16-14-12-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 to the first 15 drivers in each race, with an additional point for pole position and a point for fastest lap in each race.

Professional Amateur 2 (Pro-Am2)

Points will be awarded per round as 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Pro-Am2 has been designed to encourage new drivers and those on restricted budgets to compete in the most prestigious one-make series in Britain. A series of cost-cutting measures will be applied to this title and to in the Pro-Am2 category, each driver will nominate which 7 race weekends they choose to score championship points. Alternatively drivers are able to dip in and out of the championship to suit individual budgets. End of season award trophies will be awarded to the drivers who finish in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each race in all the Pro and both Pro-Am categories. Pro- Am2 drivers points count towards both the Pro and Pro-Am1 categories.
